Talk Show Kang Abik

“Book is a good and loyal friend”

Those are some quotes by Habiburrahman El Shirazy or most of people call him Kang abik. He is a famous writer in Indonesia. He has created many fenomenal books as we know,like Ayat-ayat cinta  or Ketika Cinta Bertasbih and many others. It’s not only that, his book has made a movie, and the movie is fenomenal too. So why he has many fans from teenagers until adult  because he inspired many people by his book and movie. And I am one of his fans that love very much his works.

Allhamdulilah, last month (29/04) I met him at a interesting talk show that created by FLP (Forum Lingkar Pena) Jombang. FLP is a organization for all people that want to study about writing,practice it, and make a work. FLP wants to give some spirit to all writers in Jombang by invite kang abik. This talk show takes a interesting theme that is “make Indonesia more educated by book and movie”. Allhamdulilah kang abik come and gave many knowladge and inspiration for all of people followed it.

In this beautiful opportunity, I listen carefully his explanation about make Indonesia more educated by book and movie. He explained clearly from indonesia’s problems, literation cultur, until religion. And I interested about that. He said that people in Indonesia has to reading to make a good literation cultur, because culture will be progress fastly with knowladge. We will get that knowladge of course by “reading”. All of book is usefull, and in every city has library with a complete fasilities like book,computer until wifi. So what is the problem ? the problem of course from the reader. Reading level of Indonesia is too low. Soo little people in Indonesia that like to reading. In this problem, kang abik gave advice to all of people there to begin reading culture from their self. Try to reading all of books everyday even 15 minutes only. Do it continually, and we will get the benefit for our self and others.

Then he explained about the effect of movie. Movie gives a fast effect in society. Society will do as movie do. Society will do as like a movie do even it a bad example. So how important the movie to gives a example. A good movie will gives a good effect, and of course a bad movie will give a bad effect. So it depen of us, which one we will choose?

In the last talk show, he said as like I said in begining before that “Book is a good and loyal friend” so lets make a friendship closer with a book. Book will give us many advantage.

In the last sesion of this talk show, I don’t want to pass my opportunity to ask his signature and take picture with him for our spirit. Finally!! I got it. Allhamdulilah I get his signature and take picture with him  also. Even the picture doesn’t focus but it has make me happy and spirit. Because the important thing is not the picture or the signature, it’s only prize. The important thing is I can learn many knowladge from him and he inspires me more spirit to study and be a good writer in the future,insyaalloh.
